Punjab CM asked to bring documents of Hudaibya Paper Mills; PM stops PML-N activists from visiting Judicial Academy
ISLAMABAD: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has issued summons to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to appear on Saturday, June 17, before the probe body carrying out an investigation into the PanamaLeaks case, sources told The News here on Tuesday.
Sources in the Punjab Chief Minister House said they had received the summons from the JIT in which Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had been asked to appear before the probe body. The sources said Shahbaz Sharif had been asked to bring documents related to the Hudaibya Paper Mills.
They said Shahbaz Sharif holds 10,000 shares in his own name and 303,000 shares in the name of his daughter Rabia Shahbaz Sharif in the Hudaibya Paper Mills that according to some reports was allegedly used for money laundering in the past.
It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah in his media talk on Tuesday ironically 'advised' the JIT that if it wants to do PhD on the Sharif family, then it should summon Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has stopped the PML-N supporters from visiting the Judicial Academy during the appearance of the Punjab chief minister before the JIT.
