DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf and SSP Investigation Rana Ayaz Saleem held open courts in Wapda Town and listened to the complaints of the citizens on Wednesday.
Sadar SP Zahid Nawaz, Sadar SP Investigation Ammara Athar, all circle officers, SHOs and a large number of complainants were present.
Women of Wapda Town Society complained that robberies and thefts were on the rise due to the opening of all gates of the society. On which, the DIG ordered the security In charge of the society not to open more than two gates at a time otherwise a legal action would be initiated against the society.
The SSP reprimanded SHO, Sattukatla, Ahsan Ashraf Butt and In charge Investigation Sabzazar, Nasir Baig, and gave them an ultimatum of one week to arrest the accused nominated in the complaints of Ayesha Bibi and Arif or face the consequences.
Speaking on the occasion, the DIG said the purpose of open courts was to solve the citizens` problems on their doorsteps. Those complainants who were not entertained at police station level could present their complaints in these courts, he said. War against terrorism could only be won by following National Action Plan, he added.
