Wanted militant commander apprehended

BANNU: The police arrested a militant commander and recovered weapons from him here on Sunday, a police official said. DPO Sadiq Baloch told the reporters that the police were informed about the presence of a militant commander Amin Shah aka Shah Jee at a tube-well in Bahadur area in Janikhel. He said the police conducted a raid, arrested the militant and recovered a repeater gun, two hand-grenades and cartridges from him.The arrested militant was wanted in connection with the assassination of a station house officer and two cops, attacks on police posts and police stations including that of Maryan and Huvaid police stations.
Eight arrested in Landikotal search

LANDIKOTAL: The security forces conducted search operations in various locations of Landikotal and arrested eight suspects in the wake of recent terrorist incidents, official sources said on Sunday. They said that Khassadars and paramilitary troops jointly conducted search operations in Khyber Sultankhel, Khugakhel village and other areas. They searched various compounds and arrested eight persons on the basis of suspicion. The arrestees were shifted to Landikotal army garrison for investigation later.The search operation was conducted after a resident was killed in Khugakhel village on Saturday night.
Youth crushed by train in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: An unidentified youth died when he came under the wheels of Karachi-bound Khyber Mail on Sunday.The youth was trying to board the running train when he slipped and came under the wheels of the train at Bahawalpur Railway Station. According to Railway police, the dead body of the youth was shifted to the Railway police station and later to a mortuary. According to the Railway police, one passenger told the police that the deceased was boarded in the train from Rawalpindi.Meanwhile, the Sadiqabad AC along with the Health Department team raided a hotel and sealed it for violating the Ramazan Ordinance. The raiding team also took five people, including manager, in custody.
Sial for resolution of traders issues

SUKKUR: Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial on Sunday, while talking to the media after holding a meeting with Anjuman-e-Tajirran Tando Allahyar, said that it was his prime duty to address the issues of traders because they were playing a pivotal role in the economic growth. He said that traders would carry on their efforts when there would be an improved law and order situation. He, on the occasion, reiterated upon the deputy commissioner, SSP and other officers to keep in touch with traders and resolve their issues. Mama Ratan Lal briefed him about the problems faced by the traders of Tando Allahyar.

SUKKUR: Two boys drowned in the Khirthar canal here on Sunday. Reports said that the boys Asghar Ali Ansari and Hub Ali Lashari were swimming in the canal to beat the heat when they drowned. Respectively, in the Rice Canal in Larkana, a 10- year-old boy namely Sheeral Gopang drownedwhile taking a bath.
