Hesco team de-electrifies village in Nawabshah
NAWABSHAH: A village was de-electrified here on Sunday when a special team of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco), led by Superintendent Engineer Malik Imtiaz, found that the villagers were involved in meter tampering.
Malik Imtiaz told the media that he went to Syed Khair Shah village for a routine visit, but found that about 900 electricity consumers were using supply without paying a single rupee. He added that the villagers were found to be involved in meter tampering, which was a practice in which people bypassed the meters installed by the electric company.
The Hesco official said that some houses of the village had meters, while the remaining villagers were using electric supply illegally through two different feeders. He said that the Hesco team had removed the transformer and electric wires, while a case of electricity theft was also registered against the accused villagers.
