FJMU approves vacancies

LAHORE

A meeting of Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) syndicate held under the chairmanship of Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Kh Salman Rafiq at the committee room of the university on Tuesday.  Special Secretary of Specialized Healthcare Dr Sajid Mehmood, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sardar Fakhar Imam, Dr Naghmana Hamid MPA, Prof Mira Phailbus, Prof Nishat Maqsood, Prof Sheerin, MS Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Dr Nouman Matloob, officers from the Finance and Higher Education Departments and the officers concerned of the university attended the meeting. The meeting gave approval for the vacancies of professors, associate professors, medial officers and ministerial staff of various departments including examination department, registrar office, VC office, Gynae Unit IV, Neurology Department, Preventive Peads, Audiology Department Kh Salman Rafiq informed the meeting that the government is providing 400 nurses to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital which would be a great help to improve the working of the hospital.

 

Babu Express new timetable

LAHORE

Pakistan Railways has decided to change the schedule of Babu Express which travels between Wazirabad – Lahore - Wazirabad (206 Down).   According to a spokesman, Babu Express will leave Wazirabad at 4:45 am and will reach Lahore at 6:50 am. The spokesman said this train used to leave Wazirabad at 5:00 am previously. This timetable will be operational from June 1, 2017. 

 

Train kills youth

LAHORE

A 25-year-old man was killed by a train at Rana Town on Tuesday.  The deceased was identified as Barkat Ali. He was crossing rail tracks while listening to music on his cell phone when he came under the wheels of a train, resulting into his immediate death. The body has been removed to morgue.  Security: The DIG Operations visited different mosques in Iqbal Town division and checked security arrangements on Tuesday.  He appreciated the DSP and SHO of Iqbal Town on good performance. He directed the officers to conduct search operation on regularly.
