LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Q senior central leader Ch Pervaiz Elahi has termed the federal budget of the rulers cheating and fraud. He said that for buying election Rs1,000 billion have been allocated for the N-Leaguers in the name of development funds.
Addressing a press conference along with party Secretary General and MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema at his residence here on Sunday, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said no relief has been provided to the people as price-hike increased 50 percent but salary only 10 percent.
He said after announcing Rs341 billion Kissan package only Rs20 billion were released and that too were swallowed by the N-Leaguers and patwaris. Modi’s Indian farmers are being made prosperous and our farmers miserable. He said the rulers should stop oppression on the farmers; in the house they talk about the Kissan package and outside they baton charge.
Pervaiz Elahi said defence budget has not been increased but reduced, in 2008 during our tenure defence budget was 2.6 percent of GDP which they have reduced to 1.7 percent, foreign debt has touched record level of 171 billion dollars as compared to the PML-Q tenure and every Pakistani is under debt of Rs113,000.
He said telephone calls have been made cheaper but not medicines, what is the benefit of abolishing “Parchi Fee” because neither there are doctors nor medicines in hospitals. He reiterated that the country will make progress only if the Kalabagh Dam is constructed.
In reply to a question, he said laptops were purchased at the cost of Rs200 billion whereas by establishing two factories with this amount how many jobs could be created?
