Lauds new system of producing under-trial
prisoners before courts through video link
LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah Thursday said judicial reforms were being implemented speedily to provide justice in under-trial cases without any delay.
The chief justice was addressing through a video-link to an inauguration ceremony of online production of under trial prisoners at Rawalpindi Sessions Court.He lauded the initiatives of Rawalpindi sessions judge for evolving a new system of production of under trial prisoners before courts through video link from central Jail Adiala, which would help save national exchequer and expenses incurred on transportation and security measures. He said the online system not only would help save the time of courts but also ensure speedy justice.
Chief Justice Shah said the essence of judiciary reforms was to authorise sessions judges and members of judiciary to evolve new innovated ideas with the help of information technology to speed up under trial cases.
He stressed on keeping continuous process of dialogue among judges, lawyers and all stakeholders to further streamline legal system.Rawalpindi D&SJ Sohail Nasir said the new online system would save millions of rupees to be incurred on transportation of prisoners from jail to courts.
Rawalpindi RPO Fakhar Sultan Raja, CPO Israr Ahmed Abbasi, President Lahore High Court Bar Association, Rawalpindi Zafar Mahmood Mughal, President District Bar Association Rawalpindi Sajjad Akbar Abbasi, members of bar, senior lawyers and officials of judiciary were present.
