RAWALPINDI: The Indian troops on Wednesday set a rare example and directly targeted members of the United Nations Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) when they were on a routine patrol on the Pakistani side in the Khanjar Sector along the Line of Control (LoC). Indian troops committed an unprovoked ceasefire violation and targeted a UNMOGIP vehicle near the LoC in the Khanjar sector, a press release by the Inter-Services Public Relations said. The vehicle carrying UNMOGIP officers Major Emmanual of the Philippines and Major Mirko of Croatia were visiting the LoC with UNMOGIP blue flag hoisted as per procedure. Both the officers remained safe as they were off the vehicle.
