Rehman Malik takes notice of seizure of heroin from PIA plane
ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate’s Committee on Interior and Narcotics Senator Rehman Malik on Wednesday took notice of repeated instances of seizure of large consignments of heroin from PIA’s aircraft during a week and directed the Federal Investigation Agency and Anti-Narcotics Force to submit detailed reports on it.
Taking notice of seizure of large consignments of heroin from PIA’s aircraft the second time, Rehman Malik questioned whether it was not a conspiracy against Pakistan.
“The incident demands transparent and immediate probe into the matter to unearth those elements that are using the national carrier for drug smuggling and maligning the name of PIA and Pakistan,” he said.
Rehman Malik asked the government to seek details from the British government. “It is highly regretful that the heroin was again successfully transported in the aircraft,” he added.
