KHUZDAR: Three prominent commanders and their 23 associates of defunct Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) surrendered with their weapons during a ceremony held here in Balochistan Frontier Corps camp on Friday. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senator Naimatullah Zehri, Commandant Kalat Scouts Colonel Rizwan Afzal and others attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, former Ferrari commander Umar Baloch expressed his deep resentment over his taking part in a fight against his own country and people and said he and his associates who have laid down , made this decision after realising that they were perpetrating violence against their own people and land. "We had been misled by foreign sponsored elements who got us indulged in a futile struggle,” he said and added militancy benefits only a few families and plays havoc with the entire Baloch nation. He urged all the militants to join national mainstream quitting the path of violence as it is in their best interest.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, PML-N Senator Mir Naimatullah Zehri and Commandant Kalat Scouts Colonel Rizwan Afzal urged Baloch militants to surrender to the government following footsteps of their fellows instead of playing in the hands of enemy forces.
They said the government will facilitate surrendering militants to live a normal and peaceful life. They said the government has decided to rid the province of violence and it will not spare anyone posing a threat to peace in any corner of the province.
