MANSEHRA: The police have booked 10 more people for allegedly lynching a man in Garhi Habibullah last month over suspicions of having illicit relations with a woman.
“Four of the two suspects have secured pre-arrest bails from a local court,” said Mohammad Yasir, in-charge of Garhi Habibullah Police Station, while speaking to reporters on Tuesday. The family of the victim, Abdul Sattar, nominated 10 more people on Sunday, after which Mohammad Sajid, Mohammad Adil, Abdul Razzaq and Liaqat Ali got pre-arrest bails.
The police official said that Mohammad Manzoor, Mohammad Sadiq, Babar, Ashiq, Mohammad Liaqat and another person were still at large. “We are carrying out raids for the arrest of the remaining six suspects,” said Yasir.
Abdul Sattar, who had allegedly gone to meet a woman in Darra Shawal village, was allegedly first shot and then stoned and clubbed to death on April 22 by an angry mob. The police had already arrested three main suspects in the case.
One of the accused Mohammad Nisar, who allegedly fired at Abdul Sattar, managed to flee to Saudi Arabia. The police said they were in contact with the Interpol for bringing him back to the country. “I rushed to save Abdul Sattar from the angry mob after receiving information on April 22 but he had succumbed to injuries before reaching hospital situated some 25 km away from crime scene,” said Mohammad Yasir.
An accused, Khushal Khan, was already arrested along with his son Mohammad Rashid and Mohammad Sajid.
