Siraj for ruthless accountability of all

LAHORE

JI ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has reiterated that no positive change could be witnessed in the country without ruthless across the board accountability.

The system of accountability must hold those sitting at the top first and then proceed downwards to the next level and so on. I present myself for accountability to begin with and then want Asif Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan to be held next, he said while talking to media at Mansoora on Tuesday after addressing a three-day training workshop of heads of seminaries. To a question, he said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wanted to brush Panama Leaks and news leaks under the carpet and move on so that he could not be held accountable for anything. That was why he was declaring himself exonerated of all the charges despite that the JIT had just begun its investigations. To another question, he said not a single promise made by the present rulers to the nation was fulfilled during the last four years, including the end of load shedding, breaking the beggars bowl towards IMF, making electoral reforms, end of VIP culture etc. He lamented that entire economy of the country was running on foreign and domestic loans, and rulers had literally given entire nation hostage to the IMF and World Bank. Foreign Minister beamed with joy whenever he obtained fresh loan as if he had conquered Kashmir, he added.

Sirajul Haq warned that if electoral reforms were not held before 2018 elections it would bring no change in the country. He said again there were promises of holding electoral reform after elections, but this time JI would not allow holding elections without first holding electoral reforms. He said he was holding meetings with political heads to bring all political parties on a single platform regarding electoral reforms agenda in the country. He cautioned that if ruling elite of the country were not held accountable by the courts then it would shatter the dreams of the nation.
