The recent cross-border firing of Afghan security forces has once again strained the already fragile relations of Pakistan and Afghanistan. This despicable incident took place when a census team was doing a headcount in the villages of Chaman near the Pak-Afghan border.
This deplorable act of Afghan security forces shows that Kabul is still unwilling to accept the Durand line as an international border between the two countries. It is high time Pakistan raised this issue on various regional and global forums, because the innocent civilians, living alongside the western front, are bearing the brunt of such mala fide intentions.
