NOWSHERA: The Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti Saturday asked the government to extend the scope of the operation against militants to the entire country.
Addressing a public meeting organised to mark the death anniversary of Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan and Wali Khan here, Haider Hoti said the action against militants should not be limited to Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“A decisive action against militants should be taken across the country to get rid of this menace once and for all,” he added. He said the ANP would support the government if it launched a country-wide action against militants.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain, while criticising the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, said he lacked political maturity. He said the Judicial Commission, if formed, should start its investigation from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“We had not been provided level-playing field in the general elections. The terrorists wanted the government of a political party that could have soft corner and support them,” he alleged. He urged Imran Khan to shun the policy of double standard.
Both the nationalist leaders said Bacha Khan and Wali Khan advocated the philosophy of non-violence and ANP has adopted and believe in this philosophy.
