The land mafia in Karachi is very active. A couple of months back, the mafia succeeded in demolishing a historical school, Jufelhurst School. The school was established before the independence of our country. According to some media reports, the building was also declared protected heritage by the Sindh Culture Department.
It was the responsibility of the concerned department to protect the site. The growing influence of the land mafia is badly affecting the country. It is high time the government took strict action against the land mafia.
