PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Salah-ud-din Khan Monday rewarded officers and jawans of the Dera Ismail Khan police for courageous performance against terrorists.
During search and strike operation, an encounter took place between police party and terrorists at Kut Shah Khana in Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday. After an hour encounter, an official communiqué said, the police party killed two notorious terrorists namely Mattiullah and Kashif Jamal. Both were wanted to police in several terrorist incidents, target killing and attacks on police officers and jawans, it added.
Addressing the ceremony, Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salah-ud-din Khan appreciated the bravery exhibited by the jawans at the risk of their precious lives. He added that the said terrorists had created terror through their activities and thus had become a big challenge for the police.
On this occasion, the IGP awarded Sub-Inspector Salimullah Khan and constables Wilayat Khan, Javed Iqbal, Sher Muhammad, Javed and Mira Jan with cash prizes and commendation certificates.
