Hunar Mela pulls crowds
PESHAWAR: Music and traditional dances Saturday attracted many people, including men, women, students and families at the ongoing Hunar Mela here at the PIA Planetarium.
The concert pavilion presented traditional Khattak, Mehsud, traditional Attanr, Chitrali, Gatka, Attanr Ball and Bangash dances. The visitors enjoyed the traditional dances presented by different troupes.
A number of artistes and singers also performed at the music pavilion. Sara Raza, Nazia Iqbal, Ismail Shahid, Said Rehamn Sheeno, Shahid Malang, Humayun Khan, Zafar Khan Meena Gul, Zahirullah, Laila Khan, Falik Shabbir and others presented traditional, folk and pop music and mesmerised the audience with their melodious voices.
Organized by the TCKP, the event is aimed at highlighting the skills of artists and providing opportunity of entertainment to the women and families at local level, said a press release.
The families also thronged the stalls displaying handicrafts, embroidery, Taghar work, Bannu Royal Khaadi, stone carving, Peshawari caps and shoes, blacksmith work, Hazara Jisti Shawl, national book gallery, tourists information centre Kalasha art and embroidery and a lot of other items.
