Karachi thrash Benazirabad 11-1 in regional hockey tourney

KARACHI: Karachi recorded a convincing 11-1 victory against Benazirabad in the regional round of NBP PHF U25 Inter-Region National Hockey championship on Friday at Sukkur Hockey Stadium, Sukkur.
Waseem Aslam scored four, Arif and Anas scored two goals each, while Arslan, Hunain and Asad Ali scored one each. Qasim scored a consolatory goal for the losing side.
In another match, Hyderabad defeated hosts Sukkur 3-0. Skipper Yasir scored two goals. Zafar Abbas scored one.
In the last match of the day, Larkana overpowered Mirpurkhas by 8-1. Abdullah scored a hat-trick. Basit scored a brace, while Ubaidullah, Lal Shah and Wajid scored one goal apiece. Asad scored one for Mirpurkhas.
