Azeempura Gymkhana beat Omar CC

KARACHI: Azeempura Gymkhana beat Omar Cricket Club by 37 runs at Hill Park Ground in the first match of the Omar Associates Trophy Club Cricket Tournament.
Batting first, Azeempura Gymkhana scored 214-8 in 30 overs. Hanif Azad scored 34, Lal Kumar 25 and Nasir Khan 29. M Asghar took 2-30.
Omar Cricket Club were all out for 177 in 26 overs. Fazal Hassan scored 39, M Aslam 29 and M Asghar Shah 23 not out.
Haseeb Ahsan got 3-33, Arish Kaimkhani 2-32 and Sharjeel Razzak 2-27.
Former fast bowler Jalaluddin inaugurated the tournament.
Director Omar Associates Nadeem Omar said he desired telecast of matches of every club and school level matches so that the whole nation could see the talent of the country and come out of the prevailing sad environment.
“If families watch their children on the mini screen, it will create a sports-loving environment, which is the need of the time,” he said.
