BAHAWALPUR: A seminary student was butchered by his friends for a laptop.
Muhammad Usman, a resident of Shadab Colony, went missing about four days ago. On Friday, his body was found from the roof of a vacant house at Rehmat Colony near Government Sadiq Postgraduate College of Commerce. City DSP Shafqat Atta told The News that Usman had given his precious laptop to his friends for installing Window and the friends were reluctant to return it. “On Friday, Usman forced his friends to return the laptop. Later, they called him and he went missing since then,” he said, adding that they took his friends, including Sharjeel and Noor Zaman, into custody and interrogated them. He said that the suspects revealed that they had butchered Usman after torture, burnt his body and placed it on the roof of a house. He said that the body had been recovered on their pointation. He added that they were conducting raids to arrest the accused’s accomplices.
