This refers to the news report, ‘North Korea: ready to strike U.S aircraft carrier’. The news itself is a bombshell for the people who are the advocates of peace. No doubt, the war has already set the world aflame. The armed conflicts in Afghanistan and the Middle East are enough to establish the fact that it is easy to start a war, but it is difficult to end it. Even if it ends soon, it leaves millions of people displaced and hundreds killed. The consequences of a war are not limited to the conflict-affected zones, but they echo in the length and breadth of the planet. It is the pressing need of the hour that the world’s superpower realise that a mere show of strength will have undesired outcomes.
The US is already at war. Millions of people are already displaced and are migrating towards the future of uncertainty. Air strikes in Syria and the famous MOAB in Afghanistan will not end the ongoing conflict in these regions. Worse, this will aggravate the situation. In the meanwhile, North Korea and the US are leaving no stone unturned to demonstrate their power. Now, military weapons are more lethal, if a war breaks out; the world will hopelessly watch the war’s grave repercussions for the entire region.
