ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Thursday said the recent revelations by Ehsanullah Ehsan, former spokesman for Tehreek-e-Talban Pakistan (TTP), and earlier confessions made by Indian spy Commander Kulbhushan Yadav had exposed the real face of India.
“Pakistan has always highlighted to the international community that India uses the Afghan soil against Pakistan and it has been repeatedly stated by those in India in position of authority and responsibility that their effort is to squeeze Pakistan from the eastern and western borders,” spokesman at the Foreign Office commented during the weekly media briefing.
He reiterated that India’s efforts of state sponsorship of subversion and terrorism stand exposed and recent revelations and confessions are irrefutable proofs against India. “The international community should take note of Indian state sponsorship of activities of subversion, terrorism and financing of terrorists against Pakistan. India clearly stands exposed as a state sponsoring and financing terrorists. Confession of Kulbhushan Yadav and now revelations by Ehsanullah Ehsan are irrefutable proofs against India. We have raised this issue of Indian involvement and terror financing in Pakistan at the UN and with other countries,” the spokesman added.
He pointed out that in his revelations Ehsan had admitted that Jamaatul Ahrar was working on Indian intelligence agency RAW’s agenda to destabilise Pakistan using the Afghan soil. He said JA is receiving all kinds of support including shelter, finance, training facilities and documentation for ease of movement in Afghanistan. “Local population of Kunar and Nangarhar strongly resent the JA’s activities, but they are helpless. He also revealed that JA leader Omar Khalid Khorasani received medical treatment in India after he got injured in Afghanistan,” the spokesman said.
However, there was rather a meek response from New Delhi when its spokesman at the Ministry of External Affairs told the media, “We know the value of such coerced confessions. All that they reflect is a mindset on the part of those who put out such coerced confessions, which believes that others in the world also do what they do.” In spite of several queries from the media, New Delhi has still shown no proof that Kulbhushan is a retired Navy officer and also there is no explanation as to why the government issued him two different passports under different names to a serving officer.
There also appears to be confusion in New Delhi as to how to handle the discovery of Indian citizens who were taken out by the recent bombings by US fighter jets, which dropped the mother of all bombs which caused massive damage to human lives and property. It has been extensively reported that 13 Indians were killed in this bombing. While many reports claimed that these were RAW agents, reports from Delhi claim that these were Indian Muslims who had joined Daesh.
When this was put to the spokesman, he responded that his Indian counterpart was the best person to answer this question but there was no doubt that the Indians are operating not only from their own soil, and sending spies who carry out subversive activities and terrorists to Pakistan, but also using the Afghan soil against Pakistan. At a time when a top level Pakistani military delegation was in Kabul on behalf of the army chief, the spokesman at the Foreign Office refrained from criticism of Afghan’s intelligence agencies who according to revelations by the former Taliban spokesman was a key Afghan institution which together with RAW was providing every possible support to the Pakistan Taliban.
The spokesman to a query hinted that it could be India which was behind the recent disappearance of a former Pakistan Army officer who is missing from Nepal. “Our embassy in Nepal is closely working with the Nepal government and concerned authorities. I am not aware of development, if any. You have pointed out Indian involvement by virtue of the evidence and information received so far. It is a case of entrapment and we do not rule out possibility of involvement of hostile agencies,” said the spokesman.
Together with many other voices which are being raised to condemn India’s policy of banning the social media in IHK, the spokesman clarified that this was part of the ongoing Indian brutalities against the people of Kashmir. “Not only are they involved in state terrorism against defenceless Kashmiris, but are using every tool to suppress them. One of these tools is to ban social media. This is not the first time it has happened. Soon after the extra-judicial killing of Burhan Muzaffar Wani, and ensuing events in which Kashmiris in IHK were protesting peacefully against Indian atrocities, they had completely blacked out the media,” he said.
