Historic judgment
After the Panama case decision, there seems to be an unending frenzy in the media – different demands, statements and analysis of politicians and law experts. The situation is simple; the court has ordered the formation of the Joint Investigation Team to further probe into the matter and it has not given verdict against the prime minister. The government has rightly responded with a simple stance that they welcome the decision and the PM and his family will cooperate with the JIT proceedings.
After the assurance that despite being at the highest executive office, the PM will face the due process of law just like the common man, opposition parties should rather appreciate and let the law take its due course. So instead of buzzing around baseless apprehensions about the government for political point scoring, opposition parties should respect the true spirit of the apex court’s decision.
