Militant arrested, arms recovered in Charsadda
CHARSADDA: The police on Wednesday arrested a militant and recovered suicide vests and huge cache of arms and explosives from him, an official said. District Police Officer (DPO) Sohail Khalid told reporters that the police arrested a militant identified as Said Bacha aka Maaz Rahman alias Abid in Charsadda.
He said that two suicide jackets, 15 hand grenades, 24kg of explosives, a rocket launcher, four projectiles, 10 remotes, two Kalashnikovs, 33 batteries, one kilogram of ball bearings, 20 yards of prima card, two kilograms of coal, 23 feet of safety fuses, 180 detonators, six time devices, 19 receivers, four intoxication injections, two mobile phones, a letterpad of the proscribed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other material were recovered from the arrested man. The DPO said the arrested militant was affiliated with the Sheikh Khalid faction of the TTP and wanted by the police in connection with various cases of target killings and extortions. He said that the militant had shared valuable information with the investigators and further action would be carried out on the basis of that information in the coming days.
