Mercury reaches 42°C

LAHORE

Weather remained extremely hot in the provincial capital on Sunday as mercury reached 42°C, which is just two degrees below the historical highest maximum temperature recorded in the city during April 2010. 

High temperature forced majority of the citizens to stay indoor during the day but some rush was witnessed at the Lahore Canal where people, especially teenagers were trying to beat the heat with cool canal water.

Met officials said continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. They predicted mainly hot and dry weather in most parts of the country while very hot weather is expected in Naseerabad, Makran, Sibbi, Sukkar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Hyderabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, DG Khan, DI Khan and Faisalabad divisions.
