NAWABSHAH: The installation of latest MRI machine at the Peoples Medical University (PMU) Hospital was inaugurated by MNA Dr Azra Fazal and Sindh Secretary Health Dr Fazlullah Pechuho here on Saturday. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Trauma Centre of the PMU Hospital.
Addressing the opening ceremony, MNA Dr Azra Fazal said that during the era of Pervez Musharraf, the CT scan and MRI machines were installed in the hospitals of Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Nawabshah.
Dr Azra said that these machines were of low standard. She said that it was too late but the PPP government had installed machines of high quality and thanked God that the MQM was not a part of the government now.
Sindh Secretary Health Dr Fazlullah said that the program of biometric attendance of hospital staff would be introduced to check the absence of doctors, nursing and paramedical staff. Regarding shortage of doctors and medical staff in government hospitals, the secretary health said that this shortage would be met through new inductions. He also said that the MRI machines were helpful in diagnosing diseases that helped treatment in short period.
