LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq said on Wednesday that the delay in the PanamaLeaks case verdict was creating suspicions and confusion. He said the people ruling the country did not know even the basic Islamic teachings.
The president of Pakistan wanted the Ulema to find out a way for interest (usury) while according to the prime minister, Bhagwan and Rahman, as also Mandir and mosques, were one and the same thing, he said while addressing the Khatm-e-Bukhari ceremony at Jamia Uloom, Multan, on Wednesday.
The JI chief said that the rulers were advancing arguments in support of interest whereas Allah Almighty had pronounced interest a war against Him. He said that the Constitution of the country forbade interest but the rulers were promoting the interest system.
Sirajul Haq said the knowledge of the Holy Quran could help conquer the world whereas atomic bomb could could help conquer the world whereas atomic bomb could only cause destruction. He said that the teachings of the Holy Quran alone could help wipe out chaos, unrest and terrorism.
Later, while addressing a press conference in Multan, the JI chief said that corrupt and insensitive rulers had forced the people in southern Punjab to live in the pre-Christ era even in the modern days. He said that despair and despondence was writ large on the faces of the people in the era and the day might come when the wrath of these people could wipe out the palaces of the ruling elite.
Sirajul Haq said that the PML-N as also the PPP had not fulfilled their repeated election promises to make southern Punjab a separate province. The federal and the provincial governments had been swallowing the resources generated from south Punjab but not much had been done on its development.
He said the JI would struggle for the rights of southern Punjab and a separate Bahawalpur province was the right of the people there. He assured the people in southern Punjab if the JI came into power, Bahawalpur would be made a separate province.
The JI chief said that those ruling the country for the last seventy years had been holding the masses as hostages. These rulers were the progeny of the slaves of the East India Company. They had secured big Jagirs from the British rulers for betraying their own nation. Later, they came to power by the dint of their illegal wealth. They had been controlling the national institutions and denying the rights of the general public. It was due to the incompetence of these people that East Pakistan fell apart.
He said that those ruling the country were dealers and not leaders as they had always sold out the national interest for personal ends. He said the PML-N government was a total failure. Despite repeated assurance loadshedding had not come to an end.
He said that the JI would not allow the rulers to steal the 2018 elections. He added that next elections without electoral reforms would once again end up in the election of the feudal lords and capitalists.
Replying to a question about RAW agent Kalbushan, the JI chief said that criminals must be dealt with as criminals. He said still there were some pro-India people in the political parties who would like Kalbushan to be handed over to India like Raymond Davis. However he said if the Indian spy and terrorist who had been working against Pakistan’s security was released, many more like him would be shedding the blood of the coming generations.
Asked about an alliance of the religious parties, the JI chief said that he stood for the unity of the entire Ummah. The JI, he said, stood for a common army of the Muslim world besides their common currency and common education policy he added.
