MARDAN: A man hailing from Rashakai town on Wednesday asked the Pakistan Army chief to conduct the proceedings of the murder case of his sister and her five children in a military court.

Talking to reporters, Saleem Khan said that his sister had married one Iftikhar belonging to Gulibagh in Mardan district after the death of her first husband.

He alleged that after three months of the marriage, Iftikhar started beating his wife for money as he was a gambler. “Iftikhar wanted his wife to sell the house that was purchased for her by her first husband, but she refused to do so,” he said.

Saleem Khan alleged that after her refusal, Iftikhar poisoned his sister and her five children and slit their throats with a sharp tool when they lost consciousness.

He said that on the complaint of his elder brother Noor Mohammad, a case was lodged at the Hoti Police Station against the accused under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and 7ATA.

Saleem Khan said the police had arrested the accused. “I request the army chief to transfer the case to the military court to award exemplary punishment to the accused,” he added.
