Terrorism

April 09, 2017

Terrorism is defined as an act that creates fear and  chaos. In the modern era, it has become rather difficult to pin point the exact definition of terrorism. Soon after the 9/11 attack at the World Trade Centre, the term ‘war on terror’  was coined. Since then this war has taken countless lives of the innocent and the criminals alike. The war spearheaded by the US and aided by allies in Nato has taken the military forces to different regions of the world. Where ever they go, a havoc is created followed by the collapse of governments and the destabilisation of economies. The use of cluster bombs and biological weapons had irreversible adverse effects on people. The chemicals have disfigured the bodies of the injured or anyone that has been exposed to them. Therefore, handicapped and the people with physically disability are a common sight on the streets of the war-affected zone.

This war has brought misery not only to the people but also to the earth’s environment. Explosions cause an imbalance in the world’s atmosphere. A country which fights the war on terror affects from bad governance, declining economy and harsh weather condition. Pakistan is a prime example. Every day, a news report of some attack is published in newspaper. Although the government has done a lot to eradicate terrorists from the country, a lot more is needed to be done. The government’s efforts to ban the operations of banned organisations in the country are commendable. It should tread on the same direction to reach to its goal.
