MURREE/GILGIT: The Murree, Swat, Skardu and Gilgit Balistan areas have received another spell of rainfall and snowfall while Murree received snowfall after a span of 35 years in April, hence the outgoing chilly season has returned to most areas of the country with intensity.
After 35 years, Murree and adjoining areas received snowfall on Friday in the month of April. With the ongoing spell of rainfall and snowfall, the land route located in urban areas of Swat has been disconnected with the rest of adjoining areas.
Malam Jabba, Kalam Maidan and other plain areas received 3 inch and 6 inch snowfall respectively. 95% areas of Skardu’s land route have been disconnected with rest of country while five points located on the highway leading to Gilgit and Skardu have been closed for all sorts of traffic.
The Met Department has forecast more rain along with thunderstorm in isolated places of Kashmir, GB, Malakand Division, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Fata and Islamabad. Meanwhile, hot and dry weather is forecast for rest of the country.
