Polio case detected in Naushahro Feroze

SUKKUR: A polio case was detected in Kandyaro city of Naushahro Feroze where doctors confirmed one-year-old Abdul Aleem to be suffering from polio virus.
Reports said that Abdul Aleem had been administered polio drops, and yet he
was found to have been suffering from the polio virus which posed a challenge to the Health Department of Sindh.
Reports said that the WHO had raised its concerns over the polio vaccination drive, saying that the WHO thought that there were some loopholes in the vaccination drive, and detection of the polio case in Nausharo Feroz showed that there were indeed gaps in the vaccination drive.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Sukkur, Muhammad Abbas Baloch, ordered all the assistant commissioners and UC medical officers to take steps to administer polio drops to all those who missed having been vaccinated during earlier drives for one reason or the other. “In this connection, no negligence will be tolerated,” said the commissioner at a meeting called in connection to review the performance of the ongoing polio vaccination campaign.
