The digital library at the Dow University of Health Sciences was officially named after its former principal, Professor Shamsuddin Rahimtoola, recently in continuation of an earlier announcement by the university to name different sections of the campus after its former teachers.
The announcement was made at a condolence meeting held at the Arag Auditorium for Professor Rahimtoola, who died on October 26, 2016. Senior faculty members, including Prof Junaid Ashraf, Prof Khalid Mehmood, Prof Masood Hameed Khan, were present on the occasion. They spoke of their personal experiences and learnings from Prof Shamsuddin Rahimtoola over the years.
Professor Rahimtoola was well-known for his accurate diagnostic and unique teaching skills to many generations of students through the 1970s till even after the turn of the century.
The digital library is located on the main city campus of the DUHS and has been developed keeping in mind the interactivity to be developed with other HEC institutions along with international centres of research and publications.
