Humanitarian crisis
Children in Indian-held Kashmir were forced to perform sit-ups. This incident is another grave violation of child rights as well as of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It shows that Indian troops have no mercy for children and no fear of any criticism. Pakistan has raised the Kashmir issue at every forum to highlight the brutal treatment of unarmed civilians but to no avail. Indian forces have shown no leniency to date. Unicef and other child rights organisations like CRIN have not raised their voices against this brutality. Is this because of their biased priorities?
The international community must take notice of these ill treatments and should strongly condemn Indian atrocities. It is sad that innocent children are living in fear. Immediate action should be taken to protect innocent children from such harsh punishments.
