LAHORE
The 7th job fair of the Punjab University’s College of Information Technology (PUCIT) was held here on Sunday in which 43 leading multinational and national IT companies had set up their stalls. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir, PUCIT Principal Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Talking to media, Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir said PUCIT was producing market-driven graduates due to which its graduates were playing leading role in multinational and national IT companies. He said these companies were benefiting from the expertise and ideas of PUCIT graduates, who were working on key positions.
Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar said many of these companies had been started by PUCIT graduates. He said the purpose of the job fair was to facilitate the graduates in matching their skills and abilities with the available career opportunities by having them interact with recruitment executives and team leads of various software houses. He said the participant companies had conducted interviews and preliminary recruitment tests, collected CVs, presented technological trends and shared job descriptions/specifications of the available opportunities with the students.
