SUKKUR: Water scarcity in all canals of Khairpur has compelled growers to launch protests and demonstrations. According to reports, water scarcity in the Mirwah canal, Nara canal, Rohri canal and other canals for a month caused destruction of different crops like sugarcane, date palm and other crops.

Growers Altaf Hussain Phulpoto, Shahid Hussain and others said the crops were severely affected because of the shortage of water for irrigation and the issue was creating loss of millions of rupees and also affecting their cattle.
