Sports gala ends in H-8 College

The annual sports gala for the academic session 2016-17 ended at the Islamabad Model Postgraduate College H-8 on Thursday after prize distribution among winners.

H-9 College Principal Prof Mudassir Niaz was the chief guest at the event, which had Jamal Abdul Nasir Usmani as its president and PIA director (human resource) Sardar Muhammad Riasat the guest of honour.

Noted among those in attendance were Quaid-i-Azam University director (sports) Safdar Mehmood, Degree College Sihala principal Professor Izhar-ul-Hassan Bukhari, Islamabad Model Postgraduate College of Commerce H-8 principal Professor Atta Muhammad Marwat and F-10/4 College principal Professor Farhad Khan Khalil.

H-8 College Vice Principal Professor Riasat Ali Abbasi highlighted the significance of sports and thanked the principal, organising committees and administration for making the event a huge success.

Sardar Muhammad Riasat said he felt pleased to receive love, respect and appreciation of the college administration and students.  He said sports gave students very good and healthy faculties that helped them become effective citizens. He asked students to give their best to win honour, respect and prestige for the country.

As a former Olympian, he offered himself for his ready services for the promotion sports at the FG colleges of Islamabad.

Professor Mudassir Niaz declared games healthy activities and said students should focus their attention on studies as well as sports.

Principal Professor Muhammad Ali Siddiqui thanked guests for showing up and contests winners for the success.
