Train hits man to death in Kot Lakhpat
LAHORE
A youth was killed by a train in Kot Lakhpat area on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Asim Rafique, son of Muhammad Rafique of Jahanian. It could not be ascertained whether he committed suicide or he accidentally came under the wheels of the train. Police have handed over the body to his heirs.
girl dies: A six-year-old girl expired in a hospital on Tuesday, six days after she had received burns in her house at Islampura.
The girl, identified as Bisma, had suffered fatal burns due to electricity shocks on March 23. She was admitted to hospital where she succumbed to her burns. Police have handed over the body to her family.
factory fire: Two labourers were injured when a fire broke out in a factory in the Sherakot area on Tuesday.
Victims Usman, 30, son of Haneef, and Shahzad, 17, son of Gulzar were admitted to hospital where Usman’s condition was stated to be critical with 70 percent burns. The other victim suffered 40 percent burns.
Household items worth thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes when fire broke out in two houses, one at Misri Shah and the other at M Block, Model Town, due to short circuits. Firefighters extinguished the fires after hectic efforts. No casualty was reported.
bus, dumber collide: At least 11 people were injured in a collision between a bus and a dumper in the Sherakot area on Tuesday.
Rescuers removed the injured to hospital where the condition of three victims was stated to be critical. Police have arrested the accused driver and impounded his vehicle.
road crashes: Total 745 road crashes were reported to the Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service/Rescue 1122 from 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Ten people were killed and 614 badly injured in the accidents. The injured were shifted to hospitals.
However, some 227 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by the emergency medical teams.
robbers arrested: Civil Lines CIA claimed to have arrested six robbers and recovered loot and weapons from their possession.
The arrested were identified as Taiyab, Usman, Sadaqat, Qamar, Waqas and Ghulam Murtaza.
Arms seized: Shahdara police arrested a man and recovered a huge cache of weapons from his possession.
The accused was identified as Fahem Sarfraz of Kohat. According to the City SP, police also recovered 12 repeater guns, 33 pump-action shotguns, three rifles, 13 laser guns, 48 pistols, a 12 bore gun and 4,200 bullets from his possession.
