Tournament at Islamia Club to mark World Table Tennis Day
KARACHI: In connection with the celebrations of the World Table Tennis Day, Karachi Table Tennis Association (KTTA) and Islamia Club will hold a tournament in April here at Islamia Club, the organisers said on Tuesday.
The organisers said that the event would feature competitions of under-12 and under-18 boys and girls singles and veterans men’s singles.
The players who are 40 or above may feature in the veterans singles.
The interested players have been advised to get their names registered at Islamia club office. April 5 is the last date for entries, the organisers said.
Former national champion and international player Javed Hayat, who is also the chairman of the KTTA and three-time South Asian Games gold medallist Arif Khan, KTTA secretary, have requested all the current and former players and officials to come to Islamia club to celebrate this day. The boys and girls under-12 and under-18 singles events will begin at 5pm, followed by the veterans singles at 5:30pm.
