A vast number of students is currently studying in Karachi University’s evening program. The criteria of education, academic and curricular activities, teaching staff etc are almost same in the university’s morning and evening programmes except for one – the university Shuttle Bus Service. This issue has been raised by many students whether they are of morning programmes or evening programmes. Students in morning programmes are unsatisfied with the number of shuttles provided whereas the other students are worried due to the unavailability of the bus service. Although the number of students enrolled in both the programmes is almost the same, the services is discontinued in evening for no reasons.
The evening programme is semi-private as students pay double fee as compared to the students of morning programme. Because of the unavailability of the bus service, these students have to pay extra to the private vans that they use for transport and some students have to travel through local buses of Karachi which never drops them on time. The officials of the university aren’t batting an eye over this topic just like the University Grant Commission isn’t concerned about the university’s expenses.
