Turbat, Chaman romp to wins
KARACHI: Turbat and Chaman won their matches of the 12-team final round of the second edition of the PPL Balochistan Football Cup 2017 in Quetta on Thursday.
In the first game, Turbat defeated Jafferabad 5-2 with Shabbir Taj scoring a brilliant treble for the winners who were 0-1 down at one stage. Shabbir was adjudged man-of-the-match for his superb performance.
In the other one-sided game, strong Chaman bulldozed Sibi 9-0 with Mohammad Tahir and Shah Wali scoring hat-tricks.
The third outing between Loralai and Lasbela ended in a 1-1 stalemate. Sajjad Ali provided the much-needed lead to Lasbela in the 32nd minute. However, due to poor defence, Lasbela failed to maintain the lead, conceding an equaliser in the 68th minute.
One outfit from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals which will be held at the Malibagh Ground in the Balochistan capital on March 31. The final will be held on April 2.
