LAHORE
THE rapidly increasing population of Pakistan has made it difficult to provide quality health facilities to all citizens of the country. The government should announce National Population Policy and Census should also be held for getting reliable data for effective planning to improve health sector. This was the crux of speeches at a seminar arranged on ‘Health issues after 18th Amendment’ here at a local hotel on Sunday. Former MNA Mehnaz Rafi, MPA Naushin Hamid, MPA Dr Alia Aftab, Mian Saif-ur-Rehman, Brig (r) Farooq Hameed Khan, Iftikhar Bukhari and Anwar Hussain addressed on the occasion. They said a number of good developments were being witnessed in the health sector after 18th Amendment. ‘Provinces have received more funds for health sector and now it is important to ensure effective and justified use of this health budget.’
