Rawalpindi

Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has been appealed to conduct surprise visits of District Revenue Department at Rawat and Rawalpindi Tehsil and watch the helplessness of public visiting there for issuance of computerised land ‘fard’.

“It was like a battlefield (Rawalpindi Tehsil) where nobody was listening to us as we have been visiting here for a month to get ‘computerized fard’ of my 4-marla plot. We appeal to chief minister to either come here as computer staff is claiming that all ‘Khevet’ are closed therefore ‘fard’ could not be issued,” Rehman Ghani, a poor man told ‘The News’ here on Tuesday. Ghani alleged that all ‘Khevet’ will be provided as soon as some bribe is given to concerned officials.

Unfortunately, big bosses of city district government, Rawalpindi have badly failed to provide relief to public visiting the department for getting computerised ‘Land Fard’.

Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Rawalpindi, Tasneem Ali Khan admitting all facts and figures told ‘The News’ that they are fully trying to provide maximum relief of public but concerned officials of computerised system could not satisfy clients. The deputy commissioner has also conducted surprise visits here in Rawalpindi Tehsil and suspended some officials of computerized system. But, concerned officials of computerized system have directly come from Lahore therefore they are mishandling situation, he claimed. But, we will handle this situation to provide maximum relief of public, he assured.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in order to provide maximum relief to public introduced a corruption free system where public could get revenue record easily but the Revenue Department is unable to provide relief to public.

Punjab government introduced computerised system of land revenue record so that public could get ‘land fard’ easily without paying bribe. ‘Patwaris’, who are not happy over computerisation system, push public to computerisation staff for getting their land record. However, when people visit computerisation staff, they return them to ‘patwaris’ citing errors in record. They are neither getting ‘land fard’ from ‘patwaris’ nor from district revenue computerisation department.

Computerized Land Record Collector (CLRC) Muhammad Haseeb said that he is fully cooperating with public in every mater. I issue ‘fard’ after complete investigation of land record, he claimed. “Sometime we face strong opposition of public but we are trying to handle it,” he said.

It is worth mentioning here that some days back, a woman strongly protested in computer office and warned Land Record Collector (LRC) to issue ‘fard’ otherwise he will not be allowed to go home. The concerned officer issued her a ‘fard’ within some minutes.

Talking to ‘The News,’ thousands of clients at District Courts, Rawalpindi Tehsil and computerisation office Rawat said that they have been facing problems in getting their own land ‘fard’ or copy of ‘intiqal’. Punjab government introduced computerised system only to curb corruption, but it seems corruption has gone up after introduction of this system, they denounced.
