Youhanabad blasts anniversary marked

Thousands of Christians from all over the country gathered at Saint John’s Girls High School at Youhanabad on Wednesday to mark the second anniversary of Youhanabad churches bomb blasts with prayers for the martyrs of the tragedy.
Leading Archbishops of Lahore Father Frances Gulzar, Emanuel Yusaf Mani, Bishop Irfan Jamil, Father Shahid Meraj and Irshad Ashknaz, World Council for Religious Peace General Secretary Hafiz Allama Nauman, Allama Ijaz Ahmad attended the ceremony. The bishops led the services, describing the heroic deeds of the youth and priests who became victims of the Youhanabad tragedy.
MPAs Shehzad Munshi, Shakil Khokhar and Human Friends Organisation President Sajid Christopher said that terrorists had no religion as they had targeted mosques, churches, cinemas, market and educational institutions.
They said the enemies of peace would not be successful in damaging the unity and religious harmony in the country. They said that Christians along with all other minorities had given their lives for the country and would not step back from any sacrifice in future for their motherland.
