Evening with poetess at RAC

An evening with the Pakistan origin and the US resident poetess, Beena Goindi held at the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) in which she was paid rich tributes for her poetic and artistic skills. The programme was organised by the RAC in collaboration with ‘Kasab Kamal’, ‘Bazme Ihbab Qalam’ and ‘Bazme Urooj Adab’ Pakistan.

The programme was presided over by Professor Dr Munawwar Hashmi, while Canada based poetess Seema Naqvi was the Guest of Honour. Speaking on the occasion, RAC resident Director Waqar Ahmed Ch said Beena Goindi has authored two books of poetry ‘Soochti Aainkhen’ and ‘Jo Tum Ne Dekha’ while she has also contributed articles to newspapers in which she highlighted our social problems. He said she also runs an institution ‘Ghronda’ in US in which she teaches Urdu. He said Beena has combined our local traditions with the latest poetic techniques in her poetry which makes her a prominent poetess. He said Beena has also highlighted social issue and problems of women in her poetry.

Naseem Sahar, Wafa Chisti, Amin Kunjahi, Khalid Siddqui, Mazhar Shahzad, Naeem Qureshi, Ali Asghar, Abdul Qadir Tabban, Commissioner Muzzafarabad Ahmed Atta, Qyum Tahir, Mehboob Zafar, Majid Jehangir, Rehman Hafeez, Quratul Ain Naqvi, Rifat Waheed, Pir Atique Chisti, Khurram Khaliq, Rashida Maheen Malik also presented their poetry on the occasion.
