LAKKI MARWAT: The police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested six people, including a jail escapee, in separate actions in parts of the district.
"Following the directives of district police officer (DPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, a police contingent raided a suspected hideout in Kherukhel village bordering frontier tribal region and arrested Akbar Ali," said an official.
He said that Akbar Ali had escaped Dera Ismail Khan Jail when militants attacked it in July 2013. "He was a convict and imprisoned for life term in a murder case," he added. The official said that another police party headed by the SHO of Lakki Javed Khan arrested three proclaimed offenders and two suspects during surprise raids.
