Visit to Thatta
In his recent visit to Thatta, the PM promised that the PML-N will provide ‘health cards’ to every inhabitant. This is a very poor approach to tackle the rising problem of the region. 85 percent of the region’s population is drinking water unfit for consumption.
Wouldn’t provision of clean drinking water be better than distributing health cards, which might meet the same fate as the Benazir Income Scheme did. Everything that the PM said to poverty-stricken people were nothing more than ‘pre-election promises’.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Thatta on Thursday (Mar 9) and announced the mega projects for Thatta. The PM announced the opening of a new university, construction of a hospital and a motorway, the distribution of health cards, and promised to ensure the availability of electricity to many surrounding villages. He also assured the timely completion of the proposed projects.
Some may argue that these promises are being made for the elections, but it is good to know that a few projects have been approved to transform Thatta. The city is one of the ancient cities of Sindh and has been ignored for a long time. It deserved a lot more and it is hoped that more development projects will be initiated in the region.
