CHITRAL: Several councillors of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in Brep village on Friday announced joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Naib Nazim of village council Brep-Yarkhun, Purdam Baig, peasant councillors Sher Muhammad, Hidayat Khan, female councillor Mehnaz Bibi and others announced joining the PTI during a press conference here.
PTI's district chapter leaders including Muhammad Qasim, Muhammad Yaqub, Sahib Noor Khan and Haider Nabi were present on the occasion. Those who joined the PTI said that the performance of the party-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attracted them to join the party.
They said the PTI had launched several uplift projects in the remote district while the efforts of the KP government to get share for Chitral in the multi-billion dollars China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was an open secret. Apart from this, the new entrants said that the PTI had approved Rs150 billion projects in health, education and for setting up small power houses in Chitral.
