The Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) has announced that over 85 students in Sindh and Balochistan will receive awards for exceptional performance in the Cambridge examinations.
According to statement issued on Monday, the award-winning students include 19 learners who achieved the highest marks in the world and 30 learners who attained the highest marks in Pakistan in a single subject.
A CIE official said the awards would be conferred on the students to celebrate their outstanding achievements in the Cambridge examination series in June 2016.
"Many schools will host awards distribution ceremonies to celebrate their learners' achievements."
According to him, the achievement of such students would also be celebrated who have been recognised as high achievers because of their outstanding performance in subjects which are not very popular in Pakistan.
"The winning students have out-performed thousands of candidates worldwide who appeared in examinations of the Cambridge O’ Levels, the Cambridge IGCSEs and Cambridge International AS and A-Levels."
He said these outstanding results would be recognised by universities around the world as a proof of their academic excellence.
