BARA: The political administration on Thursday distributed compensation cheques among 300 tribesmen belonging to the Malikdinkhel tribe in Maidan area of Tirah valley in Khyber Agency whose houses were destroyed during militancy in 2013. The distribution was made at a ceremony held at the Khyber House in Peshawar, which was attended by local elders and officials of political administration. Senator Momin Khan Afridi was the chief guest at the event.Speaking on the occasion, Momin Afridi said compensation cheques were distributed among 300 tribesmen whose houses had been either damaged or destroyed in militancy related incidents in Maidan area in Tirah valley. The senator said the cheques were given to the internally displaced persons in two categories. Those in the category-I will get Rs0.4 million while Rs160,000 in category-II for the partially damaged houses. He added that in the fourth phase the administration would distribute Rs105.84 million among 300 militancy affected families of the agency. A total of 802 people have been compensated so far in four phases.
