Says selling donated blood is unpardonable crime
ISLAMABAD: Hearing a case of thefts of medicines and bad conditions of all federal government hospitals on Wednesday, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Saqib Nisar, directed Additional Attorney General, Islamabad, to submit a report about complaints against the government hospitals, non-functional diagnostics centres, equipment and medical facilities.
It has been disclosed in the Supreme Court that blood donated at Islamabad’s Polyclinic is being sold in the open market. This was revealed during the hearing of case by three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar. The chief justice of the Supreme Court remarked that selling of donated blood is an unpardonable crime.
Commenting over the selling of the donated blood in the market, Justice Saqib Nisar said that people donated blood to save life and selling donated blood is an unpardonable crime. The chief justice also directed the Additional Attorney General to submit the reply in this regard.
Medical should be a department of angels but the court could not intervene in political and administrative matters while running administrative errands is not the work of the judiciary, he added. The court adjourned the hearing of the case for a month.
